HemelvAAArtsdag, 29 May 2025, Rotterdam

On May 29, 2025, AAAFRESH123 transformed De Heilige Familiekerk in Rotterdam into a large-scale multidisciplinary environment where painting, music, fashion and gastronomy operated within one shared space.

Set inside the raw architecture of a former church, HemelvAAArtsdag unfolded as an immersive public program built from collaboration, collective energy and the expansion of painting beyond the canvas.

Exhibition

At the centre of the event stood a new body of work by AAAFRESH123.

Large-scale paintings entered into dialogue with sculptural objects, design furniture and motor pieces, extending the visual language of the collective into the surrounding architecture. Sculptor Gregoir Donker contributed a selection of bronze works to the exhibition.

The presentation reflected AAAFRESH123’s ongoing practice: layered, expressive painting shaped through colour, movement and simultaneous creation.

Music, fashion & dining

Throughout the day and evening, live performances, DJ sets, fashion releases and a curated dining program occupied different parts of the church.

Maison Maniac, Mascolori and Gekko Agency presented exclusive fashion releases, while musicians, DJs, chefs and collaborators expanded the exhibition into a multidisciplinary gathering moving between performance, sound, food and visual culture.

The evening program included live performances by Damaris & Band and Michael Prins, alongside DJ sets that carried the event into the night.

Collaboration as practice

At the centre of the event stood a new body of work by AAAFRESH123.

HemelvAAArtsdag was built around a shared approach to making.

Artists, musicians, designers, chefs and technical partners contributed to a temporary environment where disciplines overlapped naturally and individual practices became part of a larger whole.

For AAAFRESH123, collaboration is not a side element of the work, but part of the work itself.
